“Old World Victorian Style With New Elegant Charm.”
The Clairmont House Bed and Breakfast is a Queen Anne Victorian home built at the turn of the century and located in picturesque St. Clair, Michigan, home of one of the longest freshwater boardwalks in the United States. Within walking distance of the St. Clair River, the location is perfect for a leisurely stroll or just relaxing while watching ships and freighters pass by. Four spacious guest rooms offer private baths and are furnished with king or queen beds, elegantly appointed with antiques and Old World style.
Upon arrival, you will be escorted to your room and provided a tour of the house and grounds. After a day of sightseeing, unique shopping, sports and outdoor activities, or art, crafts, and antique shows, enjoy meeting other guests and sampling complimentary wine. Before turning in, a bedtime snack is provided. In the morning, awaken to the aroma of fresh brewed coffee and tea and a homemade gourmet breakfast.
The Clairmont House has been nicknamed “the dog house” by many local residents, as it was once home to a dog trainer, who worked at the Dromore Farm, the local horse and dog racetrack. The racetrack has since closed. The house was originally located near Dog Pond, in what is now the Alice W. Moore Woods Nature Sanctuary where the original foundation of the house can still be seen.
We will be opening our doors soon for the public and look forward to seeing you then!
